...shadow of our own souls...

A human being is only breath and shadow.
Sophocles

because everything we say and do is the length and shadow of our own souls,
our influence is determined by the quality of our being.
Dale Turner

the sun was very brief
this morning.
caught this shadow
on the dining room wall.
now.
 snow is falling.
hap-hazardously.
 now.
quite forcefully.
and bigger flakes.
going to be one of those days.
it is february 18.
spring is not very far way.
what a wonderful day to
just BE.

For those of you not wanting your word verification because the new way is annoying people. If you have changed to the new interface...(this part i cut and pasted for your FYI) -You have to be in the overview screen. Click the name of the blog so that you see the page view graph, the updates and the menu over at the left. You will see a gear (a cog if you are a Brit) at the upper right. It opens the menu with the Older Blogger Interface.

Hope this helps...i could not read those words very well at all!!!
just BE.

Great shadow shot for the day, Robin! We haven't had much sun lately here in Seattle, but that's nothing new!! Love your words as always! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The book in your photo is making me smile. I'm trying to make out, for sure, who is on that bike with Toad. I believe it is Frog. :)

The sun made a lovely shadow even if it didn't hang around for too long!

Just FYI -- Your word verification is really hard to read (by this member of your favorite elder generation ;>)), so it'll be a small miracle of this comment actually goes through.

Shadows all about the home - rather prosaic, usual an normal items have the same power to leaves shadows of artistry. So we look around, and any light, natural or artificial, allows the artistry to show through. Time after time...a snowy day outside compels us to find them all!

Cool shadows from your kitchen stuff!

Is that cinnamon hanging there? Looks like something is drying.

Love your words..snow is pretty but I am glad we are snow free here.

I hope that word verification hasn't popped onto my blog..I'll have to check.

this photo is incredible. I love how you capture something that is passed by everyday and turned it into such a beautiful photo. Looked thru some of your other photos, you have a talent for capturing the beauty in every day, love that!

Lovely shadow shot. Hope you are enjoying the snow. They are forcasting 3 to 5 inches here for tonight or early tomorrow morning. Snow makes such pretty scenery. Sometimes it makes driving a bit tedious, but I love watching the snow fall and seeing the glistening snow on the surroundings. Nature's beauty.

Robin girl we also had a few moments of shadows later in the afternoon .. of course after I posted my picture ? LOL
How is it a few seemingly simple words can conjur intense feelings about one's self ? .. sensitive people are struck more deeply?
Shadow shot is great and I was trying to figure out the title of the children's book there .. looks cute !
Joy
PS .. we had enormous snowflakes after the tiny bit of sun !

I love the big, fluffy snow flakes you speak of. Recognize Frog & Toad Together book on your table...sweet memories from when we still had little kiddos at home! Quite an interesting Shadow Shot today. Very eclectic. Happy SSS.
